Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all websites, client-area services, dedicated Mac hosting services, network access, remote access, support channels, and related services provided by lumio Networks. This AUP forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. General Rules

You must use lumio services lawfully, responsibly, and in a manner that does not harm lumio, our suppliers, our customers, other users, third parties, or the public internet. You are responsible for all activity originating from your account, credentials, allocated services, scripts, automations, users, or customer content.

2. Illegal and Harmful Activities

You must not use the services for:

Activities that violate applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or third-party rights;

Fraud, identity theft, phishing, credential harvesting, account takeover, financial scams, or deceptive activities;

Malware, ransomware, botnets, worms, viruses, spyware, malicious scripts, or command-and-control infrastructure;

Unauthorized access, password attacks, brute-force attacks, credential stuffing, or attempts to bypass authentication or authorization;

Denial-of-service attacks, traffic flooding, amplification attacks, unauthorized stress testing of third parties, or network disruption;

Illegal surveillance, stalking, doxxing, harassment, threats, extortion, or content that promotes violence or serious harm;

Content or activities that exploit or harm minors;

Infringement of copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights.

3. Network Abuse and Scanning

You must not perform unauthorized port scanning, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, scraping, crawling, credential testing, load testing, or automated probing against any network, system, application, or account that you do not own or do not have express written authorization to test. Security research must be limited to systems that you own or are expressly authorized to test and must not create risks for lumio infrastructure or other customers.

4. Email, Messaging, and Spam

You must not use the services to send spam, unsolicited bulk email, unsolicited commercial messages, phishing messages, abusive messages, or messages that violate anti-spam laws. You must not operate an open mail relay, an open proxy used for abuse, or a mail system that generates complaints, blacklisting, or provider intervention.

5. Proxies, Tunnels, and Public Forwarding Services

Unless lumio has expressly approved the use in writing, you must not operate public proxy services, public VPN exit nodes, public forwarding services, traffic resale services, anonymous exit infrastructure, scraping gateways, or similar services. Private remote access used to manage your own authorized services is permitted, provided that it does not violate this AUP or applicable law.

6. Resource Abuse

You must not use shared network, power, support, storage, or platform resources in a manner that degrades service quality for others or creates abnormal operational risks. Prohibited resource abuse includes sustained abusive traffic, deliberate resource exhaustion, cryptocurrency mining, unauthorized distributed computing, traffic-generation schemes, benchmark abuse, or workloads inconsistent with the service description.

7. Dedicated Mac Service Restrictions

Dedicated Mac services are intended for lawful Apple platform development, building, testing, quality assurance, remote desktop work, automation, and related business workflows. You must not:

Remove, disable, bypass, or interfere with required access, monitoring, security, recovery, or support controls;

Erase, factory-reset, or reinstall the operating system without lumio’s written approval;

Enable disk encryption or boot settings that prevent lumio from recovering, supporting, or protecting the service;

Change network, firewall, or access settings in a manner that prevents necessary service operations;

Attempt to transfer ownership, enrollment, activation, or management control of the hardware outside the lumio platform;

Resell public access to the service unless permitted by your plan or a written agreement;

Use the services in violation of any Apple, developer platform, app store, code-signing, or third-party software terms that apply to you.

7.1 Device Management and MDM Compliance

Mac services include required management controls, including Mobile Device Management (“MDM”) profiles and related management protocols. These controls are necessary for security, maintenance, service recovery, support, abuse prevention, and continued service operation.

You must not attempt to modify, bypass, disable, remove, conceal, erase, reset, or otherwise interfere with any MDM profile, enrollment record, management protocol, support access method, recovery configuration, or required control on any Mac hardware provided through lumio. Prohibited methods include, without limitation, changes to system settings, third-party tools, command-line profile removal, Recovery Mode operations, factory resets, operating system reinstallation, changes to boot settings, network blocking, or any other attempt to evade management or support controls.

Unauthorized interference with MDM constitutes a serious security and acceptable-use violation. lumio may immediately suspend account and server access, restrict the service, preserve evidence, and require a formal written explanation before reviewing any request to restore access. Whether account or server access is restored is at lumio’s sole discretion. Repeated violations, serious interference, loss of service control, hardware lockout, or the need for advanced recovery may result in permanent termination without a refund.

8. Content Restrictions

You must not host, store, transmit, process, or link to content that is illegal, abusive, infringing, malicious, deceptive, or likely to cause harm. You must promptly respond to copyright, trademark, abuse, privacy, or security complaints involving your services.

9. Security Obligations

You must maintain reasonable security for your account and services, including using strong credentials, securely storing keys and certificates, promptly patching customer-installed software, and promptly removing malware or abusive scripts. If you suspect an account compromise, unauthorized access, data exposure, abuse, or a security weakness affecting your services, you must notify lumio immediately.

10. Investigation and Enforcement

We may investigate activities that appear to violate this AUP, our Terms of Service, provider requirements, or applicable law. When necessary to protect security, network integrity, service availability, customers, suppliers, or the public, we may take action without prior notice. Such action may include issuing warnings, filtering or blocking traffic, applying rate limits, removing content, disabling credentials, suspending services, terminating services, preserving records, or reporting matters to providers or legal authorities.

We are not required to monitor all customer activity. However, we may review logs, reports, service metadata, or customer environments when reasonably necessary for security, support, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or policy enforcement.

11. Abuse Reports

To report any abuse involving Lumio Networks services, please contact us through the support ticket system or our contact page. Please provide as much information as possible, including timestamps, IP addresses, logs, URLs, screenshots, email headers, and any other evidence that may assist our investigation.
