This article explains how to install AnyDesk on your dedicated Mac after you can already access its graphical desktop, and how to use AnyDesk for future remote connections.

Before You Start
Before setting up AnyDesk, please confirm the following:
You can already access the graphical desktop of your dedicated Mac through VNC or macOS Screen Sharing.
Your local computer can install and open AnyDesk.
Your dedicated Mac can open a browser and download AnyDesk.
If you have not entered the dedicated Mac desktop yet, please refer to: How to Use SSH and VNC to Connect to Your Dedicated Mac.
Step 1: Download and Install AnyDesk on the Dedicated Mac
Open the official AnyDesk website in the browser on your dedicated Mac and download the macOS client.
Official AnyDesk page: https://anydesk.com/
After the download is complete, install AnyDesk as prompted.
Step 2: Open AnyDesk on the Dedicated Mac and Complete Permission Setup
After installation, open AnyDesk on the dedicated Mac.
If macOS prompts for Screen Recording, Accessibility, or other permissions, follow the prompts to open System Settings and allow AnyDesk. Without the required permissions, the remote connection may only let you view the screen and may not allow normal control.
Step 3: Record the AnyDesk Address of the Dedicated Mac or Set a Connection Password
In the AnyDesk main interface on the dedicated Mac, check the local AnyDesk address or ID. Record this address or ID. You will enter it on your local computer later to start the connection.
If you do not want to manually confirm the connection through VNC every time, you can set an unattended access password according to the AnyDesk interface prompts. Keep this password safe and do not share it publicly.
Step 4: Enter the AnyDesk Address or ID of the Dedicated Mac
In the remote address input field of AnyDesk on your local computer, enter the AnyDesk address or ID you just saw on the dedicated Mac.
Make sure there are no extra spaces in the address or ID.
Step 5: Start the Connection
Click the connection button and wait for AnyDesk to establish the connection.
If AnyDesk on the dedicated Mac requires manual confirmation, accept the connection request through the VNC window first. If you have already set an unattended access password, enter the password as prompted. After confirming that AnyDesk can connect normally, you can usually use AnyDesk directly to access the dedicated Mac in the future.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use AnyDesk directly if I have not entered the dedicated Mac desktop yet?
No. Before using AnyDesk for the first time, you need to enter the dedicated Mac through VNC or Screen Sharing first, then complete AnyDesk installation, permission setup, and address confirmation on the dedicated Mac.
What should I do if AnyDesk says it cannot connect?
Make sure AnyDesk is open on the dedicated Mac, the AnyDesk address or ID is entered correctly, and the dedicated Mac is powered on and connected to the internet. If you still cannot connect, re-enter the dedicated Mac through VNC and check the AnyDesk status.
What should I do if I can see the screen after connecting but cannot control it?
This is usually because macOS permissions have not been fully granted. Enter the dedicated Mac through VNC and check whether permissions such as Screen Recording and Accessibility are allowed for AnyDesk in System Settings.
What should I do if AnyDesk says the password is incorrect?
Make sure you entered the connection password set in AnyDesk, not the SSH password, VNC password, or client area login password.
What should I do if the AnyDesk interface language is different from the screenshots?
Follow the red boxes, arrows, and numbered positions in the screenshots. Button positions are usually similar across different language versions.
What should I do if the screen is laggy after connecting?
Graphical remote connections can be affected by your local network, remote tool service status, and device status. Try reconnecting first. If the issue continues, take a screenshot and contact support.
Security Reminders
Do not publicly share your AnyDesk address, ID, connection password, or client area login information.
Do not save the AnyDesk connection password on public computers or untrusted devices.
When you are not using the remote desktop, close the current remote session.
If you suspect that the connection information has been leaked, change the AnyDesk connection password as soon as possible and contact support.
